Paper Title: Video. Art. Problem.
Abstract: As new institutional channels for video art, online distribution platforms have troubled legal and ethical parameters around art through their Terms of Use. In conversation, co-curators Leigh Fisher and Mél Hogan discuss examples of online display as points of departure into issues of context, value, and creative exchange of video art. Discussing the conflicting desires of video artists to both engage and control participation online, this paper will consider the disparate endeavours by individual artists, collections, and distributors within an emerging institutional context.
